Reggie Moorman was a cornerstone member of The Forum for the entirety of his time here. His four years felt closer to six or seven, as he was one of the constants of the program. Reggie was known for his infectious and full-bodied laugh that delighted his peers and scared many underclassmen and passers-by. He often described himself as an amazing and passionate leader with astounding charisma and grace, and the rest of us usually nodded along in agreement.
However, Reggie was also very humble, letting his co-editors-in-chief take the lead when it came to actual responsibilities around the Forum room. In all seriousness, Reggie really was great to have around, and his positivity and zest always brought some extra flare into The Forum. I remember my very first class of Forum as an anxious freshman, and everyone was pitching their article ideas for the next edition. Reggie noticed that I was hesitant to throw my opinions out there, so he leaned over and comforted me, saying “I know you may feel ostracized right now, but pretty soon you will feel like a part of this family,” and those words encompass Reggie’s selflessness and ability to look out and advocate for others.
Reggie helped all of us grow as individuals and as a unit, and his legacy as the Lebron of Layout will have an impact far greater than even he could imagine.
