Is it possible to have another editor-in-chief like Frank Yeboah? Absolutely not. The loss of his wisdom and wit will be felt not only by every Forum member, but by Paideia as a whole. Replacing him won’t be just difficult, it’s like trying to replace a main character after the show has already peaked.
During his time in The Forum, Frank completed a full transformation: from his unofficial title as “intern” his freshman year, to ascending to the legendary status of editor in chief. While others may have followed in the footsteps of past editors, Frank managed to lead his own path entirely. His work ethic set the tone for everyone else: deadlines weren’t suggestions, and evidently, just being around him made the team more productive.
But Frank wasn’t just a leader; he was The Forum’s unofficial entertainment department. He was the star of every Forum video and the lead in every karaoke session (he had the magic magic maaaagic). His outfits during Forum Fit Checks? Consistently fire, coordinated and unforgettable. And when things got stressful, Frank didn’t panic. While the rest of us were one Google Doc away from a breakdown, he kept the energy high like a charged electron. That kind of attitude doesn’t solely help finish an issue, it makes people enjoy the process, which feels illegal under deadline pressure!
So no, it’s not really possible to have another editor-in-chief like Frank Yeboah. We will have future editors, great ones even, but there’s only one Frank: part leader, part performer and somehow always exactly what The Forum needed.
