Within the first 180 days of Donald Trump’s second term, creators of Project 2025 are hopeful that the Trump administration will implement aspects of the political handbook into American democracy. In simple terms, it is a 900-page hypothetical policy list titled “Mandate for Leadership” which proposes plans for many pressing political issues including abortion and family, immigration, climate and economy, as well as tech and education. The Trump administration tried to distance itself from Project 2025 during the election, claiming that they “have no idea who is behind it.” However, Russ Vought, who wrote a chapter on “Executive Office of the President” for Project 2025’s “Mandate for Leadership,” is under consideration for a cabinet-level position and has been vetted by Trump’s transition team. In light of the Trump administration’s plans to hire many authors of Project 2025, Americans can assume that the possibility of aspects of the political handbook being implemented in the American government has increased.
