When you think of Atlanta, what comes to mind? Some may say the food, the culture, or even the traffic, but I always think about the legends of the music game that are from Atlanta.
Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, also known as Future, was born in the heart of Atlanta. He was the son of Stephanie Jester and a byproduct of Atlanta‘s gang culture. Wilburns speaks about his rough upcomings in his music as he reflects on the environment that shaped his teenage and adult life.
Future has released three new albums in 2024: ”We Don’t Like You”, “We Still Don’t Like You”, and “Mixtape Pluto,” which have all reached the number one spot in America’s Billboard 100 on all music platforms. The most recent album, Mixtape Pluto, focuses only on Wilburn’s roots in the rap industry. He achieves his goal with a mix of trap beats and out-of-this-world melodies, leaving an everlasting impression on every track as something unique. Backed by a remarkable symphony of auto-tune, Future’s voice completes every track with a new yet familiar album that brings fans back to his earliest albums like “DS2,” “Future,” and “High Off Life.” Unfortunately, Future has made it extremely difficult to critique his album because it’s simply perfect; every song has its ting, a spicy yet exclusive ting.
I think “Brazier” is the best song on his album and, in all honesty, the perfect creation that represents Future’s true self. If I had to rate the album, I would give it a 9/10, especially since he released two other albums back to back which have scored no less than an eight on the rap meter. His recent success shows that in the future, Future will cause trouble for other artists looking to find a spot on the top 100 charts.
