Lost In Da Souse has grown in popularity rapidly over the past year due to its incredible marketing centered around filming its customers trying the food on Instagram and TikTok. While many people visit for the appeal of being in a video, the food itself is often not discussed. The Forum sent two food critics, Braylen Pendleton, and Jesus Resendiz, to determine if Lostindasouse has food as good as their marketing makes it seem.
Our expectations were high for Lost In Da Souse considering their popularity on the internet. Walking in, the first thing we saw was the long line of people waiting to order, which made our expectations grow even higher.
We ordered two Colossal Boxes for four people and two cakes, which was more than enough. Each box came with 20 wings, six sliders and loaded fries. Unfortunately, the slices of cake slipped from under our noses and we forgot to try them, and even more upsetting, we forgot to take home the 10 ranches that we paid five dollars for.
Overall, this was a huge disappointment. The food was horrible, and for some grace it was mediocre at best. From the diversity of wings we ordered, we concluded that they did not have a large flavor profile. We expected the meat to fall off the bone, the skin to be crispy, to truly get lost in the sauce, but we got lost in the utter disappointment provided by the lack of love in the wings. The sliders were the dying star of the meal, while it added light to our disappointing situation it still lacked flavor. By utilizing Hawaiian sweet rolls as buns, garlic butter on top of the rolls, and sriracha sauce on the patties, the sliders had a hint of sweet and spicy. The fries were just fries,;they were born a potato and lived the life of a potato to eventually be made into disappointing fries. Lost In Da Souse was a solid 6.5/10 for us.
