The second edition of The Pi-Olympics was held on Tuesday, October 15th with the student teacher volleyball game. The game kicked off with a competitive start, but as the set came to a close the faculty began to pull away with a significant lead.
After the students faced a tough loss in the first set, the tables turned and the students prevailed over the teachers. With the score tied at 1-1, the final set would decide the game. The two teams remained in gridlock for the majority of the round, but after a tough and tiresome game the teachers came away with the win.
Prior to the game, many students had no doubt that the students would win the game easily, but the faculty coach, Ruthie Drummond ’27, believed otherwise. “I went into the game feeling not cocky, but confident. I knew our team looked strong and had ample experience in athletics to perform and furthermore, win.” Despite their opponent’s youth, the experience of the teachers proved superior as the faculty team remains undefeated in the Pi-Olympics.
