“We’re very excited to get this season rolling,” Varsity Boys Cross Country captain Ben Walton-Scott ’26 says. Their first meet took place on Aug. 23, and they ran against Marist Twilight at Marist School. At the first meet, the boys and girls teams both finished in the bottom half of the rankings.
Despite the team result, Paideia achieved individual success thanks to Ben Walton-Scott ’26, who finished in fifth in the boys race. Both the boys and girls managed to rebound in the AT&T Starr’s Mill Panther Cross Country Meet on Aug. 31. Despite the troubles faced in the first race, Paideia saw significant improvement in their second race. Both teams continued to improve in the 11th Milton Cross Country Invitational meet as the boys and girls both made seventhplace out of 21 teams.
Paideia continued to see increased success in the Galloway MS Meet on Sept. 11, with the boys team managing to grab first place. Peter Crenshaw ’30 made 13th place out of 74 runners. These stunning results have given both teams a strong chance of qualifying for the state tournament. Despite the team’s superb performances, students are still not showing support for the team, and as Ben Walton-Scott said, “It would be great if we got more people to come out and watch.”
