“The Addams Family” was this year’s student-run musical production, created by Paideia high schoolers in just three weeks. “I am always amazed that they pull off with very little help from adults, it is a testament to the independence of Paideia students,” says Tom Taylor. Starring Hayes Eames ’26 as Gomez Addams and Sylvia VonSchlichten-Crook ’27 as Morticia Addams. They played the perfect husband and wife, and their dance moves shone on stage.
Madelyn Aguilera ’28 plays Wednesday Addams, the oldest daughter in the family.“I don’t know if it’s just because it’s my first time really being a lead, but I feel like I have been able to bond with everyone really easily,” Aguilera says. Aguilera is just a sophomore, and the cast has supported her while she wowed the audience on stage.
Hudson Cheng ’27 , Zan Fooshee ’27, and Theo Elwood ’28 played the Beineke family. They got laughs from everyone in the audience and had a full character transformation during the show. “The entire cast performs their role wonderfully, and we are extremely grateful for each and every one of them. They’ve spent the last three weeks working extremely hard to master harmonies and choreography; we couldn’t be prouder,” say Mari Wu and Elliott Matthews ’26.
“What I thought was really cool was the background music and the sets,” says Lila Lackey ’29. The Addams Family’s home stood tall with every detail perfected, and the music was put on by Paideia’s very own students. Seniors MC Huff, Elliott Matthews, Mari Wu, and Beck Edwards have done great jobs with this show on and off of the stage. They will each leave a strong legacy behind after this production.
