Since the winter of 2024, someone has been missing from Paideia’s campus, and his name is Marshal DeWoskin ’26. However, DeWoskin has finally returned. That’s right, back from his Spanish water polo adventures, a familiar face has come home to our campus.
Many people knew about DeWoskin’s absence, but few of us really knew what he was doing or why he so abruptly disappeared from our lives. Our interview with him uncovers all of the most important details from his exciting semester.
DeWoskin’s time in Barcelona, Spain was mostly spent following a demanding schedule consisting of water polo practice and classes, as he took part in a program involving both study abroad and athletic achievement.
DeWoskin would often be at school in the mornings and in the water in the evenings, training under olympian Alex Bowen. Additionally, he put his skills to the test during weekend matches.
In the pool, DeWoskin typically found himself utilized as a right wing player, and, while he didn’t consider himself a cornerstone of the program, he “had his moments” throughout the year.
This was definitely a period of personal growth for DeWoskin, especially in regards to the large leap ahead in skill level compared to the level he was at before the trip.
While most of his trip was hard work, he also found time to enjoy himself, often going on walks on the beach, visiting the local malls and shopping areas and in true European style, grabbing a coffee with his friends.
DeWoskin says that Barcelona was “unlike any other city or experience I’ve ever had before” and he had an amazing time, so students should feel free to ask him more about his interesting semester there.
Although we are all thrilled he had plenty of fun on his water polo adventure, we are even more thrilled to see his smiling face back on the Paideia campus once again.
