This November, Maddie Hall ’27 became Paideia’s first female golfer to win the Class A Division 1 All-Area Golf Team. With over eleven years of experience in the sport, Hall’s dedication to the sport has propelled her to be one of the top players nationwide, showcasing her skill, determination, and passion for the game. Hall’s dedication to the sport is what has led her to become the golfer she is today.
The All-Area Golf Award allows Hall to be recognized for her skill on a national level, but she has also won numerous other trophies and awards for golf. Hall often participates in golf tournaments, having been in around sixty tournaments and having won around 10. Attending tournaments and competitions is a key aspect of Hall’s golf career because they allow her to showcase her skill.
Hall was first introduced to golf at the age of four by her father. “My dad set me up for lessons when I was young and I thought it was fun” said Hall. She started competing at age eleven and has been in numerous tournaments since then. When asked how often she practices, Hall said “I probably play like six times a week on average, 1-5 hours per day depending on whether I’m playing in a tournament or just practicing.” Hall’s strict practice schedule shows her dedication to golf and her desire to work toward improving her skills.
Hall plays for the varsity girls and boys golf teams at Paideia and has high hopes for the upcoming golf season for Paideia. After the Paideia golf team came close to making it to the state championship last year, Hall expressed optimism for the 2024-2025 season. “Hopefully we’ll make it to state this year. I think we have a good chance since we were close last year,” says Hall. As the Paideia girls and boys golf season begins in spring, Hall hopes for even more improvement and victories. Although the Paideia golf teams have historically been small, Hall may lead the next generation of Paideia golfers to triumph and fame.
