With President-elect Trump making his way back into office this winter, climate change has become a topic of great alarm for many activists and the general public. Trump has frequently made light of climate change and dismissed it, saying climate change is “not a big threat” and often making jokes along the lines of “we will get more oceanfront property.” This stance on climate change could be particularly consequential for people who live in areas like Florida, which has an estimated 50 years left before coastal areas go underwater.
Trump says that he is planning to essentially undo everything the Biden administration has put in place regarding moving away from fossil fuels and limiting carbon emissions. He is also planning on repealing Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which was in place to use tax money to aid
climate change.
