The fall Paideia theater season has been vibrant, with the play just ending and the musical starting up. This year’s play, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” had three successful performances on Nov. 7, 8 and 9.
Traditionally, Paideia’s plays have been held in the Black Box theater, but this year an unexpected move to the main theater switched the dynamic completely by increasing the audience size. This exciting adjustment allowed even more people to watch the production.
Following the November play, an exciting announcement was made by the musical directors, Beverly Blouin, Katie Woolf and Scott Morris, that “Les Miserables” is the confirmed musical.
The student body had mixed ideas but was mostly excited after waiting six years for the return of the iconic musical. Elsa Cayce ’27, who will be playing Cosette, says, “When the musical was announced, I was very excited because ‘Les Miserables’ is such a wonderful show, and we have such talented people for the cast this year.”
For the next three to four weeks, musical actors, directors, tech crew and pit orchestra will work hard to allow the musical to take place in late January, celebrating the end of Short Term and the beginning of the second semester.
