Gabe Elkinson
Gabe Elkinson spearheaded our hearts for four years and will be remembered forever.
Where does one even begin to explain the excellence of Gabe Elkinson? His ability to drag a line across InDesign and to somehow layout a whole page was truly remarkable. As he taught students the ins and outs of InDesign, he was often sitting in the back, looking at his phone and nodding along as they did all the work. His nonchalant demeanor truly impressed us, and we often found ourselves staring at him doing vector calculus homework during class time.
Despite using his class time as a study hall, he got his work done, albeit sometimes not on time, but his creative contributions to The Forum made up for it. Gabe’s an idea man; he’s often seen looming around the whiteboard with a marker in his hand. Although he doesn’t write any words, his deep and profound knowledge of layout and editing articles helps The Forum.
If given the opportunity, Gabe would turn The Forum into a college admissions guide, full of the teachers to avoid and how to get things done with as little effort as possible. That’s what makes Gabe unique: his ability to hone in on a task, whether it be SAT practice or teaching his fellow classmates layout. In his junior year, he was the definition of locked in. He churned out pages and articles like a newspaper machine. Although the disease of senioritis struck him, he remained an important asset up until the end.
