Monday Morning Meeting is way longer than it needs to be.
Monday Morning Meetings are a good way to announce school-related business, but not everything that’s said holds value.
I don’t hate Monday Morning Meetings, but I think that the length of them could be significantly shorter while keeping the same level of importance.
I understand that getting out all the weekly information in one meeting is convenient, but a good amount of it isn’t valuable information.
For instance, take sports announcements. They take up around half of the meeting time without any real importance. Talking about school sports helps improve game attendance and spirit, but consider the people who aren’t into sports: What’s in it for them? The whole sports section just serves as more time taken out of our break and nothing more.
If Paideia switched sports announcements over to an email, it could be a great alternative to the long sports section in Monday Morning Meeting.
Students should be checking their email regularly and putting information they are actually interested in could encourage them to check their email more often, which would encourage good habits for students.
